My father, Jim Willis, and I have created a piece of public art for the city of Lake Oswego. The work entitled “Lunar Obelisk” is a tribute to our closes neighbor the moon. The piece is over 10′ high and is made of ferro cement and copper. Who knows how much it weighs! We plan on doing more public in the future.

This is my largest work so far. It takes up the entire wall in my studio. It was quite a challenge to paint. I painted most of it in the driveway using a garden hose as my water source. It is hard to get the scale in the photo but it is 10 feet long by 5 feet tall.

His name is Gerard (we don’t name them) and he is a 6 month old yellow lab. He is a handful but a lot of fun. He will go back to training when he is between 12-14 months old and get then get introduced to his new partner for another month of training. It will be hard to give him up, he is such a sweetheart but I know he will make someone a very good partner and guide.
